Wildlife UWB Tracking (Senior Capstone)
Post by Souleymane Dembele on Jun 01, 2024
A senior capstone with the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) and Texas Instruments: an ultra-wideband tracking system for endangered turtles.
What it does
Custom ultra-wideband (UWB) PCBs tag the turtles, and a relay device computes their position and sends an SMS to biologists when a turtle leaves its pond to lay eggs. The goal is to replace the slow, manual radio-triangulation method currently used in the field. We received PCB-design mentorship in Altium from Texas Instruments engineers.
